Rhyacophila Yarn - as approved by Oliver Edwards
This is NOT the original Sparkle Yarn as used by Oliver Edwards but is a very close substitute for tying the Edwards Rhyacophila larva pattern, as featured in the 2nd. edition of his Flytying Masterclass book recently released.
A Rhyac' Larva was tied with this yarn and presented to Oliver Edwards at the British Fly Fair for his comments - he initially believed that the fly had been tied by himself!
This is a two ply synthetic yarn that shreds to enable you to obtain a taper when tying the material in at the hook bend, and when tying off at the eye of the hook.
The yarn will take an olive permanent marker to give a darker colour to the upper surface of the finished fly. (take a look at the larger image to the left)
Supplied in lengths of 5 yards, enough for dozens of patterns.
Price: £2.75
