These are pure silk flosses, manufactured in France by the historical embroidery company Au Ver A Soie which has been producing fine silk threads since 1820.

The dyeing in tanks and more generally the very high quality artisan production process guarantee a perfect uniformity of colours; It can be easily spliced during the wrapping and other tying process.

Ovale Pure Silk Floss is an ideal choice for dressing classic and modern salmon flies, bodies of wet flies, streamers and also classic dry flies in Catskill style.

It is a fundamental material for tying classic salmon flies, both dressed in the hand and at the vise. Resistant and with bright colours, the Ovale Pure Silk Floss has been selected and developed with the collaboration of experts and representative classic fly tiers, such as Alberto Calzolari, Junji Ichimura and Bruno Pimpanini.

The silk floss comes on beautiful wooden spools with a centre drilled hole, which fit a normal sized bobbin holder perfectly!
