Description

Peccary Mane hair is from the hide of a Javelina, a wild Pig found throughout Central and South America and in the southwestern area of North America.

The hair is quill-like and very coarse.   Peccary mane hair also exhibits naturally mottled black, cream and grey colours.

Uniquely barred, the quills make amazing wrapped bodies and tails on large terrestrial dry fly patterns and subsurface nymphs.

The mane hairs are between 2 ” to 5″ in length. Each piece measures approximately 2″ x 2″ on the hide.

I find working with the hair is much easier if it is soaked in warm water for approximately 20 minutes prior to tying. The hair will become much softer and easier to manipulate.

Choose between Natural and gently Bleached.
